SET UP

After you unzipped RecipeOrganizer.zip, you can either rename Recipes folder to something else you prefer such as "recipes" or "documents", or you keep its original name as Recipes.

There is a file named inc_config.asp. You need to open this file and replace the default admin email to yours. This email is used when a user submits new article.

Finally, use an FTP program such as CuteFTP or WS_FTP_Pro to upload all files and folders to your site server. If you upload the Recipes folder to your web site's root folder then you will not need to change the connection paths to the database. Should you place the database (located in _private folder) in a location outside of the Recipes folder then you will need to edit the path to the database's new location. You will need to edit two files in the Connections folder:

connrecipe.asp
connrecipeAdmin.asp

If your site domain is yourdomain.com, and you do not rename the original main folder Recipes, and you upload this whole RecipeOrganizer folder to the root of your site, the URL to your RecipeOrganizer front page is:

http://www.yourdomain.com/Recipes/

The URL to Admin is:

http://www.yourdomain.com/Recipes/admin

The default Admin account is

Admin ID: admin
Password: password

Login and you will be able to change the default password to something else.

CUSTOMING THE LAYOUT

If you would like to use your own template or change colors and fonts and need assistance, please visit our Support Section for links to tutorials and 3rd party designers at http://www.aspsiteware.com/support.asp

Basic customization of the existing layout can be done very quick and easy:

To change the logo:
Create your own graphic image in the design and colors you like. Size should be 800px wide x 75px high. Name it and save it as Logo.jpg. Copy it and paste it into the assest folder overwriting the old logo file.

To change the footer:
Open the inc_footer.asp file and change the necessary information and background color to meet your requirements.

To change the menu items:
Open the inc_header.asp file and change the name of the menu items and the background color to your requirements. Create a hyperlink to the appropriate page in your web site root folder for each menu item. An example link to your home page from might look like ../index.asp or ../default.asp or ../index.html or ../default.html depending on the file type you have used for your web site pages. You can also use an absolute url if you wish. It would look like this: http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html

To change the menu item colors:
This application is customized using Casscading Style Sheets (CSS). Two such sheets are used for this application. They both may be found in the assets folder. They are:
recipes.css - controls the actual style on the application pages in both the user and admin sections
style.css - controls the actual style on the inc_header.asp and inc_footer.asp files in the main folder only

To change font type, size, color and link color simply edit the appropriate section of the style sheet(s).
